Attribute Or Quality That Defines God And Sets Him In Class All By His Own All By Himself || Apostle Joshua Selman
Apostle Joshua Selman: Atribute or quality that defines God and sets him in a class all by his own all by himself
- God is eternal.
God is eternal is a unique attribute that is only found in God. Now, man partakes of eternity but man is not eternal. To be eternal means you have no beginning and no end. He has always been and will always be.
Exodus 3:14 God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I AM has sent me to you.'”
The word “I am” there means the eternal self-existent one. God is eternal, no beginning.
That means he can change anything that started with time including your situation. Your trouble had a beginning, so it cannot be called God. Your boss had a beginning, so it cannot be called God.
The reason why we are called Gods is because we come out of the eternal one.
Genesis 21:33 Abraham planted a tamarisk tree in Beersheba, and there he called upon the name of the LORD, the Eternal God.
1 Timothy 1:17 Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen.
Revelations 1:8 I am the Living One; I was dead, and behold I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades.
- God is self-existent.
You know what that means? He does not owe or derive his existence from another and therefore does not depend on any factor or any person to maintain or sustain him.
God being self-existent, does not owe or derive his existence from another life form. He did not evolve, he did not depend on another organism to produce him, he does not depend on any other factor to sustain him.
When you study biology and you study the concept of ecosystem. There is the concept of interdependence among plants and animal. That plants and animals have a symbiotic interdependence and they can build an ecosystem where one organism depends on another, for plant, for nutrients and all of that that does not exist with God. Even as humans on earth, we depend on plants, we depend on animals.
God does not depend on any other factor to support his existence.
Psalm 36:9 For with you is the fountain of life; in your light we see light.
John 5:26 For as the Father has life in himself, so he has granted the Son to have life in himself.
Anybody who becomes like that, is greater than an emperor. Kings are not self-existent their tombs are a testimony that they are not self-existent. Everybody aside from Adam, had a mother or father whether you know where they are or not, you once had them. Even if they died at the point of birth, you once had them.
- God is Immutable.
What does that mean? He’s unchanging in his person and his character. This is the third quality that brands God from every other God. If you doubt whether God changes or not, ask the prophets of Baal. Because Baal and all of that disappointed the prophets.
James 1:17 Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.
He’s not something today and another tomorrow. Consistent in character.
If he was good yesterday, he’s good today and forever.
Psalm 33:11 But the plans of the LORD stand firm forever, the purposes of his heart through all generations.
He does not change, the plans of God can change but his purposes are consistent with his character. It remains the same.
Malachi 3:6 “I the LORD do not change. So you, O descendants of Jacob, are not destroyed.
If you say God is good, you can’t say he’s bad tomorrow. There are people who change isn’t it?
You say “this person has changed as soon as he became a director”. That’s why he’s not God. God is immutable.
- God is Omnipotent.
The word omni, is the word “all”. Omnipotent mean all powerful, sovereign.
Revelations 19:6 Then I heard what sounded like a great multitude, like the roar of rushing waters and like loud peals of thunder, shouting: “Hallelujah! For our Lord God Almighty reigns.
The one who reigns, is the one who is all powerful. You know what that means? It means, if we come in the name of that “all powerful one” and declare that “your week is blessed”, you shout a confident “amen” because the one who backs that prophetic word, is Omnipotent.
A herbalist is not omnipotent, he was given power based on his obedience and ranking. It can be withdrawn but he said “Hallelujah for the Lord God Omnipotent reigneth”
Revelations 4:11 “You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being.”
Hebrews 1:1-4 In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he made the universe. The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven. So he became as much superior to the angels as the name he has inherited is superior to theirs.
The word “all knowing” , does not just mean he knows everything to be known. There is no possibility of anything to exist without the frame of his knowledge. Nothing.
All knowing is powerful, it means all knowledge, perfect knowledge, perfect understanding, perfect wisdom. The knowledge of God is not progressive, he does not learn(God does not go through an educational system), there is nothing like he knows better, no.
God does not know better today than he knew yesterday. If that happens then he corrupts his being a self-existent God even. He’s all knowing.
His knowledge is not progressive, God does not learn, Jesus only learned when he became a man. Angels learn because they were not created in the image and the likness of God but God Almighty does not learn, he has perfect knowledge, perfect understanding, perfect wisdom.
Proverbs 15:3 The eyes of the LORD are everywhere, keeping watch on the wicked and the good.
Just because it is evil, does not mean, his eyes cannot see it. Beholding everything, he is “all knowing”.
Psalms 147:5 Great is our Lord and mighty in power; his understanding has no limit.
Hebrews 4:12-13 For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.
Next time you say “God, are you not seeing”, let that scripture comfort you. He knows.
