How False Prophet Falls Into The Hands Of Satan. || Stephanie Ike Okafor
Stephanie Ike Okafor: How false prophet falls into the hands of Satan.
And then to the false prophets, how do they also fall into the hands of Satan. Sometimes, where we struggle is, “don’t they fear God”, that’s where many people struggle. It’s like “no, this person can’t be a false prophet”, they have to fear the Lord.
Let’s look at the Bible. Simon the Sorcerer, let’s look at his story, you can study the fullness of it in Acts 8:9-23 but I just want to pick out a few verses, from verse 9-11. It says, now for some time, a man named Simon had practiced sorcery in the city and amazed all the people of Samaria, he boasted that he was someone great. And all the people both high and low gave him their attention and exclaimed “this man is rightly called the great power of God”.
This man deceived a city. People that were low, people that were high, he deceived a city. That they were calling him “oh yeah, he definitely, is the great power of God” “he is who he says he is”.
They followed him and check this out because he had amazed them for a long time with his sorcery.
This was not a man of God, this was not a man operating by the Spirit of God but there was a vulnerability in the land, the people were looking to see “power” and when they saw it, they immediately attributed it to God. They were so hungry to see a move of the spirit and the moment they saw the closest thing that looked like power, they said “oh yeah, he’s definitely a great man of God” but it was witchcraft.
He deceived them and he didn’t deceive them for a short time, for a long time with his sorcery and then, when the true prophets and the true Apostles of the Lord came to that city and revealed the true power of God, the people, their eyes were open and all this stuff happened and even the sorcerer thought he had a moment of repentance, he got baptized and all of that but his heart was always corrupted. He was just doing the appearance of what everyone else was doing and then literally when he sees people receiving the Holy Spirit, he tried to buy it.
He says, let me pay you for this. Why? Cause his heart was sold out to sin.
And look at what the scripture reveals about this man, in verse 23 it says “for I see that you are full of bitterness and a captive to sin”.
You know how the enemy exploited Simon the Sorcerer? Is the posture of his heart. His bitterness and his desire to stay in sin, corrupted his heart. And he was the perfect tool in the hands of the enemy to be raised as a minister of Satan, disguised as a minister of God.
Because, you see, you cannot be a captive to sin and a captive to Jesus. it’s impossible.
Your goal is to feed what you’re a captive to. It’s like you’re a slave to sin, you cannot be a slave to that and be a slave to Christ. So, whatever it takes to keep you in your desire, you will stay there. If you have to say the name of Jesus even though that’s not what you really worship, you will say it. If you have to glorify Jesus in public, you would do that. If you have to take on the image and the likeness of what it looks like, you would do anything to feed what you’re a slave to, to serve your true Master.
How does the enemy exploit these people? It’s right there in the word, you see it in Simon the Sorcerer. There was bitterness in his heart. What causes bitterness? I was so intrigued even when looking at that word, because sometimes it can be caused by this overdue, like when you’ve had jealousy in your heart for a long period of time, you’ve had offense in your heart for a long period of time and anything that will cause you to question the goodness and Justice of God.
And ultimately, who is this bitterness towards? The Lord.
So, you have people that maybe they question God’s goodness because of their financial situation, they’re in a place where they’re like “God I should be better off than this” and the enemy knows how to exploit that, “hey.. I could give you these powers, I could make you this great man of God and people would respect you and you will make so much money. You will deceive them and anytime you tell them to sow a seed, they will sow that seed. I can give you all of this and you would have fame and influence and all of this” and they don’t even have the capacity to have the fear of God, because again they’re a captive to sin, they’re a slave to sin, they don’t have room in their heart to fear God.
So, whatever it takes, they would do it. They no longer operate out of the fear of the Lord but they’re driven by their own desire and so the enemy knows how to exploit them because their sin now controls them. That’s how some of these people start operating in these ways. And another thing is, there are some who start off right, there are some false prophets that didn’t start off false. Because the truth is Satan, if you have the call of a prophet, the enemy is only looking to pervert it and empower it by a false spirit.
Now, here’s the thing. Not every false prophet started off false and that’s where it becomes difficult, because there are people who did not start off that way. And how do they go from really, you know having this call of God and and answering the call of God and then turning false. We also see it in the Bible. All of this is in the Bible.
When the scriptures say, “there was nothing you under the sun”, they meant that thing. Because we see it in the life of a prophet named balaam and you have to study his story but I’ll just give you a snapshot. When balaam was killed in Joshua 13:22, it was said of him to be one who practiced divination. Now, you would just think like wait… If he practiced divination, he was always false but no, when balaam was talked about in second Peter 2:16, he was identified as a prophet but when you study the story of balaam, because of financial gain his heart got corrupted and he went from someone who had a genuine call of God on his life but when he saw the the pleasures that the world could offer him, he stepped into corruption.
It’s a very slippery slope when you’re walking with the Lord, because the Spirit of God can reveal things to you, the Spirit of God can reveal to you in purity and he could show you something about a person that “hey… this person I’m looking at, there’s a contract that God is going to bring your way and he’s going to bless you and he’s going to bring you into great wealth” and that’s all the Spirit of God said. If you allow lust to enter your heart and corruption and deceit, you continue where the Lord stopped. The Lord only told you “hey.. tell this person to have confidence, I’m making a way for them. That contract is going to happen, they’re going to come into great wealth to do the things I said they should do”. Now, you continue and you said and the Spirit of God is saying that you need to sow a seed to honor the Lord. You need to sow a seed of $330,000 to help build the house of God.
Now, guess what it does to the person? When they get the contract, they’re like, “wait.. the same God who said about the contract, must be the same God who wants me to give this money.
Once that transaction happens, the enemy has your heart because now he continues to speak to you and you can slowly go from someone who had a genuine call of God and you slowly begin to step into corruption and you don’t realize where the Spirit of God left and demonic spirits stepped in.
You remember Samson? Samson was empowered by the Spirit of God. Samson did not know when the Spirit left him. It’s not a dramatic exit, you know what I mean.
You would not know, you would not realize when you came out of empowerment by the Holy Spirit into divination.
Now, demons are teaching you, demons are feeding you and you know why you can’t even see it as the one who was truly called by God? The idols of your heart have blinded you from seeing.
How could God be okay with me in this level of corruption and still empower me. You see, you have to understand God is not a user, God does not need to use you and dump you so that His Glory would be manifested.
The true essence of God’s Glory, is transformation in people. When you went from being broken and in bondage to sin, to being free and you start to have the image of Christ, that is what reflects God’s Glory beyond God just trying to use somebody, no. God is not a user, God does not need to use anybody to do his work and dump them.
And so, why am I saying this.. You think that the same spirit that has the capacity to do signs and wonders through you, would not want to make you a sign and wonder of his power of the power of the Cross, to set you free from the bondage of sin? It is greater to see in the Lord’s eyes, the sign and wonder that is truly more remarkable than someone being healed, is a life being transformed.
So, you think God will be okay with a person in bondage to sin but he’s using them to declare His Glory, no. That’s deception.
And there are many people who had a genuine call of God and the enemy lured them in and empowered them by a wrong spirit, just like Balaam and they fell into deception.
