How People Falls For False Prophets || Stephanie Ike Okafor

Stephanie Ike Okafor: How do people normally fall for false prophets or false Ministries.

Satan would always exploit any vulnerabilities in your life. Satan would exploit the idols in your heart and so for me, it was the idol in my heart to see the prophetic emerge on the earth, that was the idol in my heart, where I was just like “oh.. we need to see this”. So, anything that just looked like it, I’m like “ah.. yes, this is the true, you know this, this and that” and it wasn’t.

So, if there’s an idol in your heart for, maybe it’s even the move of God or sometimes, it might be an idol in your heart for marriage, for breakthrough, for finances, for anything and then, someone is like “hey we got to go to this church mehn,  it’s happening over here” and you don’t see it, because there’s an idol it’s feeding in your heart.

The other part is that, he would also exploit the vulnerabilities in the church, in the true church. There are true men and women of God, there are true churches of the Lord but yet, there is the lack of discipleship, there is the lack of the supernatural, there is a lack of prophetic teaching and direction, there is the lack of experiencing miracles. And here is the thing, there are people that have a genuine hunger for these things because when you encounter Jesus, you start to read the gospels, you want to see what Jesus did and when it’s lacking in in your local church and you start searching for it elsewhere, you could find yourself in a false ministry, unfortunately.

But this is also a call to the body of Christ, it’s also a charge to leadership that we have to start looking like the church Jesus is building. A church that embodies the five-fold ministry, because when we don’t embody the five-fold ministry and the Evangelist starts a church and that’s the only strength in the church. And then what happens? The Evangelist, their grace is to gather. After you have gathered and people have come to know Jesus, now they’re hungry to grow in the word and then, if you do have a teacher but you don’t have a true prophet, now as they’re learning the word, they’re hungry to see signs and wonders. They want to see what Jesus did, they want to be commissioned how Jesus commissioned us, raised the dead, cleanse the lepers, healed the sick, cast out demons but if all of this is not balanced, people start to pursue it in other places and the enemy exploits that vulnerability.

So, it’s not only the vulnerability in people, it’s also the vulnerability in the church and he exploits that to create a counterfeit.
You’re looking for discipleship? I’ll tell you the truth, most people that found themselves in false ministries and cults and all these things, a lot of them fell under the category of looking for discipleship, looking to grow in the deep things of God, they were looking to see you know, they wanted to understand deliverance like Jesus said “cast out demons”.. I want to see demons cast out and I want to see all of that and so”. To the church, we have to model what Jesus called us to, the embodiment of the five-fold ministry because if not, the enemy would continue to exploit that.
