Five(5) Things Every Man Should Leave For His Children By Apostle Joshua Selman.

The Only Thing You Get From Your Father Is Money, You Failed.
5 Things Every Man Should Leave For His Children

  1. Your Convictions.
It’s amazing that, most people, when we talk about inheritance, we are just thinking of land, estate, what is in the bank.
I hope God steps in, there is a lawless generation that anticipate in a hurry for the departure of their parents in hope that they will stumble into prepared blessing. I’m not being sarcastic, with all due apology but it is important that we must understand that as sons and daughters, if the only thing you get from your father is money, you failed.

The first inheritance that must be transferred from any man, who is called a good man to his children are his conviction. Jesus Christ was speaking about Abraham in Genesis 18:17-19 “Then the LORD said, “Shall I hide from Abraham what I am about to do? Abraham will surely become a great and powerful nation, and all nations on earth will be blessed through him. For I have chosen him, so that he will direct his children and his household after him to keep the way of the LORD by doing what is right and just, so that the LORD will bring about for Abraham what he has promised him.”

This is God testifying about a man that he will command his children and his household after him. What would be the command? That they shall keep the way of the Lord, to do justice and judgement that the Lord might bring upon Abraham which He had spoken. In order word, He’s saying teach your children whatever made our relationship functional, transfer that conviction to your children.

  1. Your Name.
Your name is a function of your track record, your credibility, your impact, your value, your contibution.
If names were not important, God will not change the names of men. In fact, He said “O Lord my God, how excellent is your name”.
If names are not powerful, ask the devil when you mention “Jesus”.

At the end of your life, your name can become a key that opens a door or a padlock that closes that door. Your entire lifetime is to translate your name to become a key or a padlock. There are children today who have to change their name because if they were identify with certain name, it will close doors for them. MAY YOUR NAME BE SO GREAT.

It is not enough to be great, your name too must be great. I hope you know you can be great and your name is not great. Genesis 12 “I will make you into a great nation and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing”.

What is the difference? He already said, “I will bless you” then He said I will not leave your name behind. A man can be blessed and your name is not great.
When you are blessed alone, your enjoy that blessing in your lifetime. But when your name is great, others can carry that name, even when you are not there.
If authority was not invested in the name of Jesus, we’ll just read that the son of God walk upon the earth, did exploit and that is it.

The early church would be a defeated church but He left us His name. He invested all power and all glory in that name and said go in my name.
You must protect your name by all means. It is better to protect your name than to protect your money. Your money can go down and you will find it but when your name goes down, it will take the Grace of God to get it back up.

  1. Your Relationships And Connections
Your network, your relationships and connections are transferable.
John 19:26-27.. “When Jesus saw his mother there, and the disciple whom he loved standing nearby, he said to his mother, “Dear woman, here is your son,” and to the disciple, “Here is your mother.” From that time on, this disciple took her into his home”.

From that hour, that disciple took her to his own home.
All blessings comes from God through men to men. All troubles comes from Satan through men to men. In any case, men are prophetic midwives. When God says yes and men say no, your yes remain in the spirit. It Takes a man, otherwise Gabriel will not be negotiating with a young virgin that Jesus is supposed to arrive but we are looking for a human vessel who will partner with heaven to make it happen and Mary said “be it unto me according to your word”. That was how Jesus arrived.

It is the desire of God that all men should be saved but where are the men that will take the Gospel to the lost?
All blessings come from God through men to men. Relationships are powerful, you must invest strategically and structurally in relationships.

  1. Your Physical Assets.
    Your cash, properties, businesses. Can you see what we have known to be inheritance is only number 4? And that so in order of priority;
    Your Conviction
    Your name
    Your relationships and connections
    Your Physical asset.

This was what the prodigal son received but unfortunately he went straight for number 4, ignoring 1,2,3.
Watch the end of a young boy who only received money.
The Bible said in LUKE 15:12-13 “The younger one said to his father, ‘Father, give me my share of the estate.’ So he divided his property between them. “Not long after that, the younger son got together all he had, set off for a distant country and there squandered his wealth in wild living.

As soon as he received it, they were foolish friends waiting for him. And they took him away from the gate of sanity, away from the place of wisdom. The Bible said he spent all He had because he did not have the conviction of his father, he did not even respect the relationship that brought the father that status. All that he went for, was the money.

I love what the bible said, “he came to himself”. The Bible never said the Holy Spirit spoke to him, never said the devil threatened him.
Men can come to themselves. And sometimes, don’t be in a hurry to help somebody God is leaving to come to himself. Because there are people, the best gift you can give them is to leave them for a while until they recognise the value.
I am not saying you should not help people, but sometimes in a hurry to take people out of certain situation, they will continue to recycle an entitlement mentality that will not allow them grow. So, the prodigal son was there in his pain and silence and he began to calculate a million dollars, five hundred thousand dollars, a hundred thousand dollars, then a few friends left. Ten thousand dollars and a few more friends left. One dollar and now am in debt and left with pigs….He came to himself .

Proverb 18:1 “An unfriendly man pursues selfish ends; he defies all sound judgment”.

  1. The Anointing And Mantle That Made You, YOU, Must Be Transferred To Your Children. Behind every great result, there are graces, there are anointing, there are mantles. Genesis 25:1-11

So he gave all the other children things but to Isaac, He called him and place his hand on him to bless him.
“Thou anointed my head with oil and my runneth over”. He does not anoint the cup, He anoint your head. That means your cup is a report card, it tells us what is on your head. When your cup is empty, don’t blame the job, don’t blame the business. The business is only a physical expression.

As a result of that anointing, in Genesis 26:12-16 “Isaac planted crops in that land and the same year reaped a hundredfold, because the LORD blessed him. The man became rich, and his wealth continued to grow until he became very wealthy. He had so many flocks and herds and servants that the Philistines envied him. So all the wells that his father’s servants had dug in the time of his father Abraham, the Philistines stopped up, filling them with earth. Then Abimelech said to Isaac, “Move away from us; you have become too powerful for us.”

So, what is on your head will eventually bring you the possessions.
